Attempting to start vehicle by by-passing PassLock® system or by substituting parts without performing passlock learn procedure may cause DTC P1631 or P1632 to be set. If no password is received, DTC U1064 or P1632 may be set. An intermittent may be caused by poor connection, rubbed-through wire insulation or a wire broken inside insulation.
If vehicle does not start, or starts and stalls, turn ignition off. Wait 5 seconds before trying restart. When VCM receives a password from VTD control module that does not match stored password, DTC P1631 should be present. If no DTCs are present, force a relearn of password.
