Circuit Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Isuzu Hombre. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
This test checks for EGR valve stuck open. Vehicle Control Module (VCM) determines if actual EGR pintle position and learned closed position vary by more than a predetermined value. VCM checks stuck valve when desired position is at zero percent. VCM commands EGR valve percent during certain driving conditions in order to clear a possible restriction from EGR valve if VCM determines ERG valve is struck open.
Conditions required to set DTC are:
- Difference between actual pintle position and learned position value is greater than 0.2 volt.
- Previously listed condition exists for greater than 10 seconds.
- Failure counter greater than 5.
