Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Test
- Turn ignition off. Fold left rear seat forward and remove base frame cover. Remove fuel tank access panel. Disconnect fuel pump 5-pin connector. Loosen banjo bolt from top of fuel filter to relieve fuel pressure. Disconnect fuel lines from fuel pump. Remove fuel pump assembly.
- Measure resistance between fuel gauge sending unit connector terminals No. 2 and 5 (component side) with float in empty (down), half-full (middle) and full (up) positions. See Fig 1 . Compare with expected values. See FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS . If resistance values are not as specified, replace fuel pump assembly.
