Torque Control Differential Assembly: Reassembly

  1. Apply fluid to rubber seals of oil strainer. Install oil strainer, magnet and oil pump pin to differential carrier. Align oil pump pin with groove of rear oil pump in pump body assembly. Install oil pump body assembly into differential carrier assembly. Install oil pump drive shaft aligning projection of oil pump drive shaft with groove of front oil pump in oil pump body assembly.
  2. Install thrust needle bearing in correct direction. See Figure. Install pressure plate assembly aligning projection of pressure plate with groove of oil pump drive shaft. Install clutch hub/plates/discs and pressure plate. Align projection of clutch hub plates with discs. Install clutch guide and 30-mm shim.
  3. Apply Liquid Gasket (08718-0001) to sealing surface of torque control differential case. Assemble within 20 minutes, and allow to cure for at least 30 minutes after assembly before filling with fluid. Install dowel pins and torque control differential case. Install companion flange, NEW "O" ring (with CVT applied), back-up ring, 24-mm disc spring washer and lock nut. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Stake lock nut. Install breather tube, drain and fill plugs.
