Torque Control Differential Assembly: Disassembly

  1. Remove breather tube and drain and filler plugs. Unstake and remove lock nut, 24-mm disc spring washer, back-up ring, "O" ring and companion flange. Using screwdriver, pry pinion shaft from torque control differential case. See Figure.
  2. Remove torque control differential case and 2 dowel pins. Remove 30-mm shim and clutch guide. Remove clutch hub/plates/discs assembly and pressure plate. Remove thrust needle bearing and oil pump drive shaft. Remove oil pump body assembly, oil pump pin, magnet and oil strainer.
  3. Clean and inspect all parts for damage and wear. Replace parts as necessary.
