DTC 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18: Wheel Sensor
- Turn ignition switch from OFF position to ON position. Start engine and test drive vehicle at speed of 12 MPH or more. If ABS indicator goes out when ignition switch is in ON position and light does not turn on after test drive, vehicle is okay at this time. If ABS indicator light does not go out when ignition switch is in ON position or turns on after test drive and DTC 11-18 is set, go to next step.
- Disconnect ABS control unit 26-pin connector "B". See Figure
. Measure resistance between appropriate ABS control unit connector "B" terminals. See WHEEL SENSOR CIRCUIT TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION FOR DTCS 11-18

DTCs (Wheel Sensor Location) Measure Between ABS Control Unit Connector "B" Terminals No. (Wire Color) 11 & 12 (Right Front) 8 (GRN) & 21 (GRN/BLK) 13 & 14 (Left Front) 10 (BRN/WHT) & 23 (GRN/ORG) 15 & 16 (Right Rear) 4 (BLU/YEL) & 17 (GRN/YEL) 17 & 18 (Left Rear) 6 (GRY) & 19 (LT BLU) - Front wheel sensor circuit resistance should be 750-1050 ohms at 68°F (20°C). Rear wheel sensor circuit resistance should be 850-1150 ohms (Civic) or 950-1450 ohms (CR-V) at 68°F (20°C). If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, check for open or short in wire harness between ABS control unit and appropriate wheel sensor. If problem exists, repair appropriate wire. If problem does not exist, replace appropriate wheel sensor.
- Check for continuity between ground and ABS control unit connector "B" terminal No. 8 (right front wheel), No. 10 (left front wheel), No. 4 (right rear wheel) or No. 6 (left rear wheel). If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, check for short to ground in either wire between appropriate wheel sensor and ABS control unit. If problem exists, repair wire. If problem does not exist, replace wheel sensor.
- Reconnect ABS control unit connector "B". Start engine. Measure voltage between ground and ABS control unit connector "B" terminal No. 8 (right front wheel), No. 10 (left front wheel), No. 4 (right rear wheel) or No. 6 (left rear wheel). If voltage is less than 4 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 4 volts or more, repair short to power in either wire between appropriate wheel sensor and ABS control unit connector "B".
- Check for a chipped pulser (reluctor gear). If pulser is chipped, replace driveshaft or hub unit as necessary. If pulser (reluctor gear) is okay, go to next step.
- Check wheel sensor installation. See WHEEL SENSOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reinstall wheel sensor as necessary. If wheel sensor is installed correctly and DTCs 11, 13, 15 or 17 still exist, replace ABS control unit. If wheel sensor is installed correctly and DTCs 12, 14, 16 or 18 still exist, ABS control unit may have detected a signal disturbance.
