Removal & Installation (CR-V)
- Remove steering column. See STEERING COLUMN article in STEERING. Center punch shear bolt and drill head off with 3/16" (5 mm) drill bit. Remove shear bolts from switch body. Insert ignition key and turn key cylinder to "I" position. Push lock pin down and pull steering lock body out from steering column. Go to next step.
- To install, insert key into steering lock body and turn key to "I" position. Push lock pin down and insert steering lock body into place. Loosely tighten NEW shear bolts. Check for proper operation of steering wheel lock mechanism. Ensure ignition key operates freely in lock housing. Tighten shear bolt until hex heads twist off. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
