Removal & Installation (Civic & CR-V)

Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove driver's instrument panel lower cover and knee bolster. Remove steering column covers. Disconnect ignition switch harness 5-pin connector from underdash fuse/relay box. On Civic, disconnect ignition switch harness 7-pin connector from main wiring harness. On CR-V, disconnect ignition switch harness 3-pin connector from main wiring harness. On all vehicles, insert ignition key and turn key cylinder to "0" position. Remove 2 ignition switch mounting screws and remove switch. See Figure. To install, reverse removal procedure.
