Horn Switch: Odyssey

  1. Disable air bag systems. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Remove instrument panel lower cover, knee bolster, and steering column covers. Disconnect cable reel 4-pin connector from cable reel. See Fig 1. Check continuity between ground and cable reel connector terminal No. 2. Continuity should exist with horn switch depressed. If continuity exists, switch is okay. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
  2. Remove driver's side air bag module. Check continuity between cable reel terminal No. 2 and horn switch positive terminal. If continuity does not exist, check cruise control SET/RESUME/CANCEL switch. See CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEMS - ODYSSEY article. If switch is okay, replace cable reel. If continuity exists, replace driver's air bag module. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
