Oil Pressure Warning Light

  1. If oil pressure warning light stays on with engine running, check engine oil level. If oil level is correct, remove oil pressure sending unit and install an oil pressure gauge.
  2. Start engine and allow engine to reach normal operating temperature (cooling fan should come on twice).
  3. Engine oil pressure should be 14 psi (1.0 kg/cm2 ) at idle, 54-65 psi (3.8-4.6 kg/cm2 ) at 3000 RPM.
  4. If oil pressure is within specifications, replace oil pressure sending unit. If oil pressure is not within specifications, inspect oil pump.
