Oil Pressure Warning Light
- If oil pressure warning light stays on with engine running, check engine oil level. If oil level is correct, remove oil pressure sending unit and install an oil pressure gauge.
- Start engine and allow engine to reach normal operating temperature (cooling fan should come on twice).
- Engine oil pressure should be 14 psi (1.0 kg/cm2 ) at idle, 54-65 psi (3.8-4.6 kg/cm2 ) at 3000 RPM.
- If oil pressure is within specifications, replace oil pressure sending unit. If oil pressure is not within specifications, inspect oil pump.
