Ignition Switch
Remove steering wheel and lower column cover. Release ignition switch harness connector. Check for continuity between terminals in each switch position according to the following:
- With switch in "O" position, continuity should not exist between terminals.
- With switch in "I" position, there should be continuity between "Acc" (White/Red) and "Bat" (White) terminals. See Figure .
- With switch in "II" position, there should be continuity between "Acc" (White/Red), "Bat" (White), "IG 1" (Black/Yellow), "IG 2" (Black/Yellow) and "ST" (Black/White).
- With switch in "III" position, there should be continuity between "Bat" (White), "IG 1" (Black/Yellow), "IG 2" (Black/Yellow) and "ST" (Black/White).
NOTE:
The mechanical part of ignition switch does not have to be removed to replace electrical switch.
