Installation (Prelude)

  1. Using new gaskets at all locations, install exhaust manifold on cylinder head. Tighten manifold-to-cylinder head nuts to 7 ft. lbs. (10 N.m). Tighten further to 20 ft. lbs. (28 N.m). See Fig 1 .
    NOTE: Manufacturer does not indicate tightening sequence for manifold nuts and bolts on Prelude 1.8L engine.
  2. Install exhaust shroud, tightening bolts to 16 ft. lbs. (22 N.m). Using new gaskets, install intake manifold on cylinder head. Tighten all manifold nuts to 16 ft. lbs. (22 N.m).
