Cylinder Head: Installation
NOTE:
Use new gaskets and "O" rings when installing cylinder head.
- Ensure that all mating surfaces are clean and free of cracks. Check that No. 1 piston is still on TDC. Time valves by aligning camshaft sprocket timing marks. See Figure and Figure .
- Using a new head gasket, install head bolts. Tighten in sequence in 2 steps, first to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N.m), then to 49 ft. lbs. (68 N.m) for Prelude 1.8L engine or 44 ft. lbs. (60 N.m) for all other engines. See Fig 1 . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
