Auxiliary Intake Valves: Removal

  1. Remove auxiliary valve holder nut using special "T" wrench (07907-6570001). Using slide hammer (07741-0010100) and weight (07936-3710200), remove valve holder assembly.
  2. Compress spring and remove keepers. Disassemble and inspect valve assembly. Valve seat may be reconditioned, however entire assembly should be replaced if any component exceeds service limit.
    NOTE: An auxiliary chamber is not used on 1.8L engines.
  3. To remove auxiliary chamber, on 1.3L and 1.5L engines, use slide hammer (07936-6340000) and auxiliary chamber remover tool (07940-SA00200) to pull chamber. To remove auxiliary chamber, on 1.75L engines, use slide hammer (07940-6590300) and auxiliary chamber remover tool (07940-6930200) to pull chamber.
