Rear Main Bearing Oil Seal

  1. When replacing oil seal, be sure seal bore in cap is dry. Apply non-hardening sealant to inside of seal bore, at cap-to-block parting line. Coat crankshaft and seal lip with engine oil.
  2. Using oil seal driver tool (07749-0010000) and oil seal driver attachment tool (07947-6930100) for 1.75L engines, (07948-SB00100) for 1.8L engines or (07947-6570100) for all other engines, drive in oil seal until it bottoms against block.
