Master Cylinder Push Rod

  1. Using rod bolt adjustment gauge, mount to master cylinder and adjust bolt with top flush to master cylinder piston.
    NOTE: Accord Rod Bolt Adjustment Gauge is No. 07975-SA50000. Civic Gauge is No. 07975-6570000. Prelude Gauge is No. 07975-SA50001.
  2. Remove gauge from master cylinder and place upside down on power brake unit without disturbing adjusting bolt position.
  3. Install 4 master cylinder nuts and tighten.
  4. Connect power unit in-line with vacuum gauge (0-30 in. Hg) to power brake unit's engine vacuum supply. Start engine and set RPM to allow reading of 20 in. Hg.
  5. Measure clearance between output rod and adjusting bolt with feeler gauge. If adjustment is needed, loosen star lock nut and turn adjuster to adjust.
  6. Push rod-to-piston clearance is 0-.016" (0-.4 mm) for all models.
