Throttle Cable

  1. Check that throttle cable operates smoothly with no binding or sticking. Repair as necessary. Check cable free-play at throttle linkage. Cable deflection should be 3/16-3/8" (4-10 mm).
  2. If not, loosen lock nut and turn adjusting nut until cable can be deflected as specified. Tighten lock nut. With cable adjusted, check throttle valve to be sure it opens fully when accelerator pedal is pushed to floor.
