Circuit Description

When ignition is first turned on, IG-COIL meter fuse applies battery voltage to AIR BAG warning lamp connected to air bag indicator terminal No. 7. AIR BAG fuse applies battery voltage to IGNITION 1 input, terminal No. 8. SDM responds by flashing AIR BAG warning lamp 7 times.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to specific step numbers on diagnostic chart and may skip step numbers. No information has been left out. For circuit number identification, see WIRING DIAGRAM .

3) This test checks if voltage is present in warning lamp circuit.
4) This test isolates CKT B1 or Y/G and checks for short in CKT B1 or YG to B+.
6) This test checks if malfunction is in IPC connector
