Diagnostic Aids

A short to ground in air bag instrument panel module circuit can cause an intermittent condition. Moving wires while monitoring PASSENGER SENSELO may help locate fault. Inspect CKTs Y/R and Y for cutting or chafing. Wiring pigtail damage requires replacement of air bag instrument panel module. Diagnostic table directs technician to note entry value of PASSENGER SENSELO. Comparing value of PASSENGER SENSELO can be helpful in determining if intermittent condition exists.

2) This test checks PASSENGER-SIDE LOW voltage measured by SDM.
3) This test isolates malfunction to one side of air bag instrument panel module Yellow 2-way connector located behind instrument panel compartment.
