Circuit Description

Any ABS mechanical DTC that issues a command to illuminate the Red BRAKE warning light will also result in DTC C1286 to be stored during shut down. The DTCs that command the Red BRAKE warning light are DTC C1242, C1246 and C1251. If the motors are not in their home (upper most) position, certain electrical DTCs will also command the Red BRAKE warning light to illuminate. These DTCs are C1214, C1216, C1218, C1236, C1255, C1264, C1265, C1266 and C1282. If any of these DTCs are indicated along with DTC C1286, go to appropriate DTC diagnostic procedure prior to diagnosing DTC 1286.
