Diagnostic Test

  1. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  . Go to next step.
  2. Install scan tool. Using scan tool, check for stored DTCs. If DTC C1235 is also stored, go to appropriate DTC diagnostic test. If DTC C1235 is not stored, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Inspect the rear WSS harness, connectors and WSS for damage. If there is evidence of damage, go to step 17). If there is no evidence of damage, go to next step.
  4. Inspect rear WSS jumper harness and connectors for damage. If there is evidence of damage, go to step 16). If there is no evidence of damage, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect rear WSS directly at WSS. Measure resistance between WSS terminals "A" and "B". If resistance is 1050-1450 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 1050-1450 ohms, go to step 17).
  6. Measure voltage between WSS terminals "A" and "B" while spinning wheel. If voltage is 100mV or greater, go to next step. If voltage is not 100mV or greater, go to step 17).
  7. Disconnect EBCM connector C1. Check continuity between EBCM connector C1 terminals C13 and C14. If continuity exists, go to step 9). If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
  8. Inspect EBCM connector for signs of damage, corrosion or poor terminal contact. If a problem is found, go to step 13). If no problem is found, go to next step.
  9. Inspect wiring from WSS to EBCM for signs of damage that could result in a short. If damage is found, go to step 14). If no damage is found, go to next step.
  10. Inspect all connectors between WSS to EBCM for signs of damage that could result in a short. If damage is found, go to step 15). If no damage is found, go to next step.
  11. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reconnect EBCM connector C1 and WSS. Install scan tool. Drive vehicle above 15 MPH for at least 30 seconds. Using scan tool, check for stored DTCs. If DTC C1224 does not reset, go to step 19). If DTC C1224 resets, go to next step.
  12. Using scan tool, monitor WSS speeds. Slowly accelerate to 40 MPH and slowly decelerate to a stop. If the rear WSS is constantly higher or lower than the other 2 WSS speeds, go to step 17). If the rear WSS is not constantly higher or lower than the other 2 WSS speeds, go to step 18).
  13. Replace all terminals or connectors that show signs of poor contact, corrosion or damage. Go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  14. Repair damaged wiring harness as necessary. Go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  15. Repair damaged wiring harness connectors as necessary. Go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  16. Replace rear WSS jumper harness. Go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  17. Replace rear WSS. Go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  18. Replace EBCM. Go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  19. Malfunction is intermittent or not present at this time. Go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
