Removal & Installation (Tracker)

Release parking brake. Remove parking brake cover. Loosen parking brake cable lock nut. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel.
If brake drum is difficult to remove, back off automatic adjustment pawl. Insert two 8-mm bolts into drum and tighten until drum comes off. Remove return springs and hold-down clips. Disconnect parking brake cable. Remove brake shoes. See Fig 1 . To install, reverse removal procedure. Adjust rear brakes. See REAR BRAKE SHOES ADJUSTMENT .
