Diagnostic Aids
Any ABS mechanical DTC that issues a command to illuminate the BRAKE light will also result in DTC 86 being stored in EEPROM during shut down. These DTCs are 42, 46 and 51. If the motors are not in their home position, certain electrical DTCs will also command the BRAKE light on. These DTCs are 14, 16, 18, 36, 55, 56, 64, 65 and 66. If any of these DTCs are indicated along with DTC 86, they must be corrected prior to addressing DTC 86 malfunction.
