Engine Doesn't Crank Or Cranks Slow & Starter Solenoid Clicks
- Connect voltmeter across battery terminals. Crank engine and measure voltage. If voltage is 9.6 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage is less than 9.6 volts, perform battery load test. If battery is not okay, replace battery. If battery is okay, repair or replace starter.
- Connect voltmeter between negative battery terminal and engine block. Crank engine and measure voltage. If voltage is less than 0.5 volt, go to next step. If voltage is more than 0.5 volt, replace negative battery cable.
- Connect voltmeter between positive battery terminal and starter solenoid ST terminal. Crank engine and measure voltage. If voltage is less than 0.5 volt, repair or replace starter. If voltage is more than 0.5 volt, replace positive battery cable.
