Gear Selector Lever Can Be Moved From "P" Position With Brake Pedal Released

Turn ignition on. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe shift lock solenoid harness connector terminal No. 2 (Orange/White wire). If test light does not illuminate, replace shift lock solenoid. If test light illuminates, check for a short to power in Orange/White wire between stoplight switch and shift lock solenoid. Repair as necessary. If wire is okay, replace stoplight switch.
