Installation (16-Valve)

  1. Install rocker arm shaft from front of head. Slide exhaust rocker arms and springs onto rocker arm shaft as it is installed. Lubricate components with engine oil before installing. Push rocker arm shaft through rear of head until end is exposed. Install NEW "O" ring to end of rocker arm shaft and push it back into head. Refer to Fig 1.
  2. Rotate rocker arm shaft so that flat machined surface is horizontal and facing downward. Tighten rocker arm shaft bolts to specification and fill bolt holes with engine oil. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install intake rocker arms with clips onto rocker arm shaft. See Fig 1. Install camshaft. See CAMSHAFT  (16-Valve) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
