Oil Pump: Inspection

  1. Inspect components for damage. Ensure relief valve slides freely in bore. Using feeler gauge, measure radial clearance between outer rotor and oil pump housing.
  2. With all rotors installed in oil pump housing, place straightedge across oil pump housing. Measure rotor side clearance between both rotors and straightedge. Replace oil pump assembly if clearance exceeds specification. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS table.
