Engine Oiling System: Notes

Oil pump is a rotor-type driven by the crankshaft and located behind crankshaft flywheel. Oil is supplied to crankshaft and pumped through a vertical passage to cylinder head components. Oil pressure relief valve is located in the oil pump housing. As oil pressure is relieved, oil is diverted through valve back to oil pan.
