Gauge Indicates "H" At All Times

  1. Unplug coolant temperature sending unit connector. If gauge indicates "C", replace coolant temperature sending unit. If gauge indicates "H", unplug 13-pin instrument panel cluster assembly connector. Using a DVOM, check resistance between connector terminal No. 13 and ground.
  2. If resistance is infinite, check instrument panel cluster printed circuit for cracks or poor connections. If resistance is not infinite, repair short to ground in Yellow/White wire.
