Evaporation Emission Thermal Vacuum Valve (EVAP TVV)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain engine coolant. Disconnect 2 vacuum hoses from EVAP TVV. Remove EVAP TVV from intake manifold.
  2. Cool EVAP TVV in water to 95° F (35° C). Ensure air does not flow from upper to lower port. If air flows from upper to lower port, replace EVAP TVV.
  3. Heat EVAP TVV in water to 129° F (54° C). Ensure air flows from upper to lower port. If air does not flow, replace EVAP TVV.
