Removal (1.6L)

  1. Remove upper intake manifold. See UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Cover fuel lines with shop towel, and disconnect fuel return and supply lines.
  3. Disconnect fuel injector wiring harness. Remove fuel rail, with fuel injectors attached, from lower intake manifold (if necessary). See Figure . Remove lower intake manifold bolts/nuts. Remove lower intake manifold and gasket.
