Installation (1.6L)

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten cylinder head bolts, in sequence, to specification in 2 steps. See Fig 1 . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS TABLE at the end of this article.
  2. If cylinder head components were serviced, check valve clearance. See VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT under ADJUSTMENTS. Before installing valve cover, apply Sealant (1052942) at valve cover-to-camshaft bearing cap surfaces, on No. 1 and No. 5 bearing caps. Fill cooling system.
