Chart D, Inflatable Restraint Indicator Does Not Come On (4 Of 4): Description
When ignition is first turned on, system voltage is applied from fuse C-22 to DERM at SIR INDICATOR HIGH terminal B9 and to INFLATABLE RESTRAINT indicator, which is connected to SIR INDICATOR LOW terminal A1. Fuse C-23 applies system voltage to IGNITION 1 inputs, terminals A3 and B3. DERM responds by flashing INFLATABLE RESTRAINT indicator 7-9 times.
When engine is cranked, system voltage is applied from fuse C-21 to DERM at CRANK input. DERM grounds light circuit until system voltage is removed from CRANK input. This results in a steady INFLATABLE RESTRAINT indicator during cranking. After engine is cranked, DERM will again flash INFLATABLE RESTRAINT indicator 7-9 times if ignition is on.

- 9) Checks whether power is available to instrument cluster power feed circuits No. 39A and 39B.
- 10) Checks whether fault is due to an open fuse No. C-22.
- 11) Checks whether open fuse No. C-22 is caused by a short to ground in instrument cluster power feed circuits No. 39A and 39B or a faulty DERM.
- 12) Checks whether fault is due to an open in instrument cluster power feed circuits No. 39A and 39B or open in power feed to fuse No. C-22.
