Gauge Indicates Less Than Actual Pressure

  1. Unplug oil pressure sender connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between connector terminal and ground. If gauge indicates 215 psi, replace oil pressure sender. If gauge indicates less than 215 psi, leave jumper wire attached and unplug 10-pin instrument panel cluster connector. Using a DVOM, check resistance between terminal No. 10 (Blue wire) and ground.
  2. If resistance is greater than .5 ohm, repair open circuit in Blue wire between instrument panel cluster and oil pressure sender. If resistance is less than .5 ohm, check instrument panel cluster printed circuit for cracks or poor connections. If printed circuit is okay, replace sender.
