Gauge Indicates "C" At All Times

  1. Unplug coolant temperature sender connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between sender terminal to ground. If gauge indicates "H", replace coolant temperature sender.
  2. If gauge indicates "C", leave jumper wire attached and unplug 8-pin instrument panel cluster connector, located behind instrument cluster. Using a DVOM, check resistance between connector terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Black wire) and ground.
  3. If resistance is greater than .7 ohm, repair open in Yellow/Black wire between instrument panel cluster and coolant temperature sender. If resistance is less than .7 ohm, check instrument panel cluster printed circuit for cracks and poor connections. If printed circuit is okay, replace gauge.
