Fuel Gauge Indicates "F" At All Times
- Unplug fuel tank sender connector. If fuel gauge indicates "E", replace fuel tank sender.
- If fuel gauge indicates "F", unplug 10-pin instrument cluster connector. Using a DVOM, check resistance between terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Red wire) and ground. If resistance is not infinite, repair short to ground in junction block or Yellow/Red wire between instrument panel cluster and fuel tank sender.
- If resistance is infinite, unplug 8-pin instrument panel cluster connector. Connect a DVOM from connector terminal No. 8 (Brown/Red) to chassis ground. If resistance is greater than .5 ohm, repair open in Brown/Red wire between instrument panel cluster and negative battery terminal.
- If resistance is less than .5 ohm, check instrument panel cluster printed circuit for cracks or poor connections. If printed circuit is okay, replace fuel gauge.
