Wheel Bearing

Wheel bearings are not adjustable. To check wheel bearing for excessive wear, raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. Remove brake drum. With dial indicator stem mounted against center (outboard side) of axle hub, measure end play. See Fig 1. If end play is more than .002" (.05 mm), replace rear axle hub assembly.
