Action Taken
Center sensor assembly will illuminate AIR BAG indicator and open safety circuit, disabling SRS.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart. For circuit number identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS.
- Test determines whether fault is in steering column components or in SRS circuitry.
- Checks whether fault is caused by a short from D+ circuit to D- circuit or faulty center sensor assembly.
- Checks whether steering column fault is caused by faulty SRS coil assembly or faulty inflator module.
WARNING:
To avoid air bag deployment and injury when trouble shooting system, only use test equipment specified in diagnostic charts.
