Gauge Indicates "C" At All Times

  1. Unplug coolant temperature sender connector. Connect a fused jumper wire from connector terminal to ground. If gauge indicates "H", replace coolant temperature sender.
  2. If gauge indicates "C", unplug 10-pin instrument panel cluster connector. Using a DVOM, check resistance between connector terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Green wire) and coolant temperature sender connector.
  3. If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, repair open circuit in Yellow/Green wire between instrument cluster connector and coolant temperature sender. If resistance is less than 2 ohms, check instrument panel cluster printed circuit for cracks or poor connections. If printed circuit is okay, replace gauge.
