Parking/Emergency Brake

NOTE: Ensure rear brakes are correctly adjusted before adjusting parking brake. See REAR BRAKE SHOES under ADJUSTMENTS  .
  1. Pull parking brake lever up fully and count number of notches lever travels. Adjustment is okay if 4-7 clicks are heard. Adjust if necessary.
  2. If parking brake cable adjustment is required, remove console box. Loosen jam nut, and adjust parking brake cable. Tighten jam nut, and repeat step 1). After adjustment, check for brake drag with parking brake off.
