Steering Wheel & Horn Pad: Removal

Ensure front wheels are straight. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove 2 horn button/center pad assembly-to-steering wheel screws from behind steering wheel. Pull horn button/center pad assembly from steering wheel, and disconnect wire connectors. Use cloth-covered, flat-blade screwdriver to pry horn button/center pad assembly from contact plate (if necessary).
Remove steering wheel retaining nut. Scribe mark on steering wheel and shaft for reassembly reference. Using steering wheel puller, remove steering wheel. See Fig 1 .
