Prizm (Gauge Reads "C" At All Times)

  1. Disconnect coolant temperature sender connector. Connect a fused jumper wire from connector terminal to ground. If gauge indicates "H", replace coolant temperature sender.
  2. If gauge indicates "C", disconnect instrument panel cluster connector. Connect an ohmmeter between connector terminal No. 5 (Base and LSi) or terminal No. 6 (GSi) and coolant temperature sender connector.
  3. If resistance is more than 3 ohms, repair open circuit in Yellow/Green wire between instrument cluster connector and coolant temperature sender. If resistance is less than 3 ohms, check instrument panel cluster printed circuit for cracks or poor connections. If printed circuit is okay, replace gauge.
