Prizm (Gauge Reads "L" At All Times)

  1. Disconnect oil pressure sender connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between connector terminal and ground. If oil pressure gauge indicates "H", replace oil pressure sender.
  2. If oil pressure gauge indicates "L", disconnect instrument panel cluster connector. Connect an ohmmeter between instrument panel cluster connector terminal No. 10 and oil pressure sender connector.
  3. If resistance is more than 3 ohms, repair open circuit in Yellow/Black wire between instrument panel cluster and oil pressure sender. If resistance is less than 3 ohms, check instrument panel cluster printed circuit for cracks or poor connections. If printed circuit is okay, replace oil pressure gauge.
