Storm (Fuel Gauge Reads "E" At All Times)
- Disconnect fuel tank sender connector. Connect an ohmmeter between terminal No. 3 (Brown/Red wire) and ground. If resistance is more than .6 ohm, repair open in Brown/Red wire between fuel tank sender and negative battery terminal.
- If resistance is less than .6 ohm, connect a fused jumper wire between fuel tank sender connector terminal No. 1 and ground. If fuel gauge indicates "F", replace fuel tank sender.
- If fuel gauge still indicates "E", leave jumper connected and disconnect 10-pin instrument cluster connector. Connect an ohmmeter between connector terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Red wire) and ground. If resistance is more than .6 ohm, repair open circuit in junction block or Yellow/Red wire between instrument panel cluster and fuel tank sender.
- If resistance is less than .6 ohm, check instrument panel cluster printed circuit for cracks and poor connection. If printed circuit is okay, replace fuel gauge.
