Prizm (Fuel Gauge Reads "F" At All Times)
- Using an ohmmeter connected to ground, backprobe Brown wire in terminal No. 8 (Base and LSi) or terminal No. 1 (GSi) of 10-pin instrument cluster connector located behind left side of instrument panel. If more than 3 ohms are present, repair open in Brown ground wire.
- If less than 3 ohms are present, reconnect instrument cluster connector and disconnect fuel gauge sender connector. If fuel gauge indicates "E", replace fuel gauge sender.
- If fuel gauge continues to indicate "F", disconnect 10-pin instrument panel cluster connector. Connect an ohmmeter between terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Red wire) and ground. If less than infinite ohms are present, repair short to ground in Yellow/Red wire between instrument panel cluster and fuel gauge sender.
- If infinite ohms are present, check instrument panel cluster printed circuit for shorts or poor connections. If printed circuit is okay, replace fuel gauge.
