Removal (1.8L)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect accelerator cable clip from air intake duct. Remove PCV hose and air intake duct.
  2. Disconnect accelerator cable, air intake duct, electrical connections and vacuum hoses from throttle body. Disconnect coolant hoses from throttle body (if necessary). Partially drain cooling system if disconnecting hoses.
  3. Remove throttle body from upper intake manifold. Disconnect vacuum hoses and electrical wiring clips from upper intake manifold.
  4. Remove support brackets and engine hoist bracket from upper intake manifold. Remove upper intake manifold retaining bolts/nuts. Remove manifold and gasket. See Figure .
