Removal (1.6L)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Partially drain cooling system so coolant hoses can be removed from throttle body. Disconnect accelerator cable, air intake duct, electrical connections, vacuum hoses and coolant hoses from throttle body.
  2. Remove ignition coil wire. Remove breather hose from air intake duct. Remove PCV hose from valve cover. Remove EGR pipe from EGR valve and exhaust manifold. Remove throttle body from upper intake manifold.
  3. Remove Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor hose from upper intake manifold. Disconnect vacuum hoses at upper intake manifold. Remove upper intake manifold retaining bolts/nuts. Remove manifold and gasket. See Figure .
