Rocker Arm: Installation

  1. Coat camshaft journals with oil. Apply RTV Sealant (1052917) to contact surfaces between cylinder head and camshaft bearing caps No. 1 and No. 5. Install rocker assembly. Tighten bolts in sequence. See Figure . Tighten all bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table at end of article.
  2. Adjust valve clearance. See VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT under ADJUSTMENTS. Before installing valve cover, apply RTV Sealant (1052917) to contact surfaces between valve cover and camshaft bearing caps No. 1 and No. 5. To install valve cover, reverse removal procedure.
