Removal & Disassembly

  1. Remove timing belt and crankshaft sprocket. See TIMING BELT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove oil pan, if necessary, as oil pan seals against oil pump assembly. See OIL PAN under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Remove oil pump retaining bolts, and remove oil pump. Remove oil pump cover from rear of oil pump. Remove oil seal from oil pump housing. Remove plug, spring and relief valve from oil pump housing.
