Wheel Bearings: Installation

  1. Apply grease to bearing cavity, wheel bearings and oil seal lips. Using Bearing Installer (J-34842 ), install bearings with seal facing outward (away from spacer). See Fig 1.
  2. Install brake drum assembly. Install NEW spindle nut and tighten to 74 ft. lbs. (100 N.m). Stake new spindle nut. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
